    • the spiritual guide of a living person's soul.

"a psychopomp figure who stays by her and walks in her dreams"

THIS IS NERGAL; MESOPOTAMIAN GOD OF WAR, DEATH AND DISEASE. REPRESENTED IN ANCIENT HEBREW TEXTS, HE IS ASSOCIATED WITH HOT SUN SCORCHING THE EARTH, DEATH AND MURDER. OFTEN SEEN WITH A FIGHTING COCKEREL TO REPRESENT HIS FURY AND A MACE, NERGAL WAS SAID TO DESTROY WITHOUT THOUGHT OR REASON RATHER THAN TO PUNISH SIN. HE REPRESENTS MEANINGLESS SUFFERING.

THIS ORIGINAL GRAPHITE, WATERCOLOUR AND METALLIC INK PAINTING IS A3 BUT COMES FRAMED WITH MOUNT IN AN A2 FRAME. 42 X 67CMS READY TO HANG.
